2011 Older Adult Grants Awarded

The Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City is pleased to announce that 14 Greater Kansas City area nonprofit organizations are recipients of grants through its 2011 Older Adult Grantmaking Program. The grants, totaling $230,765, represent the Foundation’s fifth round of annual investments over the initial five-year period through 2012. 


Core Agency Support Grants Announced

The Board of Directors of the Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City is pleased to announce its 2011 Core Agency Support grant awards. The Foundation presented grant monies in the amount of $299,997 to thirty-two agencies providing emergency assistance, emergency shelter and safety-net health care clinics in the Greater Kansas City metropolitan area, including Jackson, Clay and Platte counties in Missouri, as well as Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas. The Foundation also awarded $5,000 to the University of Kansas, School of Social Work for the Tikkun Olam Scholarship Program, and $100,000 to the Jewish Community Campus for operational expenses.


2011 Older Adult Grant Guidelines Announced

The Jewish Heritage Foundation is seeking proposals for 2011 Older Adult grants in the following two categories: National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) Accreditation Incentive Grants and General Operating Support grants. 

Local senior centers play a significant role in supporting and enabling older adults to age in place and in their community. Senior centers serve to connect older adults to community services to help them stay healthy and independent.   The goal of the Senior Center Accreditation Incentive grants is to assist senior centers located in the five county Kansas City metropolitan area in achieving accreditation by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC).  


1.8 Million Distributed to Local Jewish Agencies

The Board of Directors of the Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City (JHF) is pleased to announce its 2011 Program and Core Agency Support grant awards to local Jewish agencies. The Board awarded grants totaling $1,181,650 to nonprofit organizations serving the Jewish Community. The money will help support 19 programs that provide direct services to clients, and provide Core Agency Support for four Jewish agencies.


Older Adult and Core Agency Support Grants Awarded

The Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City is pleased to announce that eight Greater Kansas City area nonprofit organizations are recipients of grants through its 2010 Older Adult Grantmaking Program. The grants, totaling $150,000, represent the Foundation’s fourth round of annual investments over a five-year period through 2012. “The Jewish Heritage Foundation is committed to helping address the needs of Kansas City’s growing older adult community. We are proud to support nonprofit organizations that assist older adults and help develop long-term solutions for what is an underserved population in the Kansas City metropolitan area,” said Merilyn Berenbom, Board President.


$1.2 Million Distributed to Local Jewish Agencies

The Board of Directors of the Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City (JHF) is pleased to announce its 2010 Program and Core Agency Support grant awards to local Jewish agencies. The Board awarded grants totaling $1,199,302 to nonprofit organizations serving the Jewish Community. The money will help support 21 programs that provide direct services to clients, and provide Core Agency support for three Jewish agencies.
