$1.2 Million Distributed to local Jewish Agencies

The Board of Directors of the Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City (JHF) is pleased to announce its 2010 Program and Core Agency Support grant awards to local Jewish agencies. The Board awarded grants totaling $1,199,302 to nonprofit organizations serving the Jewish Community. The money will help support 21 programs that provide direct services to clients, and provide Core Agency support for three Jewish agencies.

 


Jewish Heritage Foundation Intern Starts

June 18, 2010

The Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City is pleased to welcome Emma Paskin as its summer intern.  Emma is in her senior year  at the University of Kansas working towards her Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Social Work.  Emma is a participant in the Learning for Life Summer Internship, a program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Kansas City, generously funded by the Helen & Sam Kaplan Memorial Foundation.  


New Board Members Elected

At the March 25, 2010, Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City, the following individuals were unanimously elected to serve a two-year term as Foundation Officers:  Merilyn Berencom, President; Susie Goldsmith, Executive Vice President; Frank Sterneck, Vice President - Investments; Sharon Greenwood, Vice President - Grants; Sue McCord-Belzer, Secretary; Tom Isenberg, Treasurer; Sheryl Davidow, Immediate Past President. 


2009 Aging in Community Grants Awarded

The Jewish Heritage Foundation of Greater Kansas City is pleased to announce that six Greater Kansas City area nonprofit  organizations are recipients of grants through its 2009 Older Adult Grantmaking Program. The grants, totaling $256,430, represent the Foundation’s third round of annual investments over a five-year period through 2012.


2009 Jewish Agency Grants Awarded

The Board awarded grants totaling $1,316,790 to nonprofit organizations serving the Jewish Community. The money will help support 23 Programs that provide direct services to clients, provide Core Agency support for four Jewish agencies, and provide second year funding for a pilot financial leadership capacity building program."


United For Hope/United to Help

The Jewish Heritage Foundation, in response to the current economic downturn, is partnering with the United Way of Greater Kansas City and other local foundations in a community wide fundraising campaign to raise money for local programs providing emergency assistance.
